Art history and architectural history

The history of art and architecture was my final degree subject and has been a lifelong enthusiasm.

My indexes in this field include monographs on the painters Piero di Cosimo and Gabriel Metsu and the painted ceiling of Peterborough Cathedral, and books on Neo-Georgian architecture, the architecture of English railway stations, the Egyptian style in English art and architecture, and medieval chantry chapels.

I have also indexed many journal articles on medieval and later art and architecture. I am the regular indexer for the journal Vernacular Architecture.

A book I particularly enjoyed indexing recently was Picturing England, published by Historic England. It was full of wonderful photographs of English architecture and much more, dating back to the earliest years of photography:

Mike Evans, Gary Winter and Anne Woodward, Picturing England: the photographic collections of historic England. (Historic England, 2015)
